Surf's up!

Banzai Surfer is a fun surfing game where you have to traverse the sea on your board, dodging hazards and enjoying the waves.

Surf and adventure

More than just a surf simulator, Banzai Surfer is more reminiscent of a platform game, except it's played at sea.

The surfer protagonist must collect coins while fleeing sharks and other obstacles. To do so, it's essential to control the board in the air as well as on the water.

There are five stages, ranging from a peaceful island to landscapes evocative of Easter Island. You can also opt for various boards as you progress through the game.

Crouch, fly and dive to the bottom of the sea

While the jumps and stunts are quite limited, Banzai Surfer does let you jump, bend your legs and dive to find your dolphin friends.

The controls are simple (operated with a finger) and lack any option for more movements.

The surf could be more fun

Surfing games do bring to mind spectacular jumps, stunts, etc. While Banzai Surfer offers jumps and a few surprises, the moves and controls don't really go much further than that.

On the other hand, the game is cheerful, colorful and with the occasional touch of humor.

The refreshing sea breeze

Surfing is meant to be fun. While Surfer Banzai won't lessen your hunger for the feel of neoprene and sand between your toes, it is a good solution for days when you're far from the sea and the waves.

PROS

  • Controlled with one finger
  • Cheerful and bright
  • Personalize your board

CONS

  • Not very realistic
